An Afternoon with Dick Vermeil
Saturday, June 3, 2017
4:00-6:30 PM
West Chester Golf & Country Club

Hosted by
Chester County Sports Hall of Fame

Please join the Chester County Sports Hall of Fame in celebrating the organization’s 10th anniversary, and the awarding of the inaugural Richard B. Yoder High School Scholar-Athlete Awards. Named in memory of CCSHOF charter member and inductee Richard B. Yoder, the Yoder Award recognizes a male and female graduating high-school student who is an accomplished athlete, scholar and leader, qualities that defined Dick Yoder’s life.

Legendary coach Dick Vermeil will present the awards to the recipients, and share his thoughts on sports, scholarship, and leadership. The only coach to win a Rose Bowl (UCLA, 1975) and a Super Bowl (St. Louis Rams, 1999), Vermeil took a declining Philadelphia Eagles franchise and transformed it into a winner taking the team to its first Super Bowl appearance (1980). A four-time NFL Coach of the Year, he makes his home in Chester County where he is actively involved in community service. Coach Vermeil met Dick Yoder when the Eagles trained at West Chester University, and the two men became good friends, a relationship that extended to their families. It is fitting that Dick Vermeil present the first Yoder Award.

The event is limited to 120 guests who will enjoy an opportunity to meet Dick Vermeil and the award winners, celebrate CCSHOF’s tenth anniversary, support the Yoder Award, and enjoy light hors d’oeuvres and beverages. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Richard B. Yoder Scholar-Athlete Award and are tax deductible.
